- AISL.SST.01 HISTORY: Students will understand patterns of change and continuity, relationships between people and events through time, and the causes and effects of interaction among societies.
- AISL.SST.01.G6.01 Study the methods employed by archaeologists, geologists, and other scientists to study the evolution of early man
- AISL.SST.01.G6.02 Identify multiple causes and effects when explaining historical events
- AISL.SST.01.G6.03 Analyze the effects of new evidence and techniques on archaeological assumptions
- AISL.SST.01.G6.04 Understand civilizations in terms of economic, social, cultural, religious, and political developments
- AISL.SST.01.G6.05 Understand the importance of writing and its effect on society and historical discoveries
- AISL.SST.01.G6.06 Understand the lasting impact of historical cultures on societies today

- AISL.SST.02 GEOGRAPHY: Students will understand the concepts of geography and how they contribute to the interaction between humans and natural and man-made environments.
- AISL.SST.02.G6.01 Use map and globe skills to interpret different kinds of projections, as well as topographic, landform, political, population, and climate maps.
- AISL.SST.02.G6.02 Use geographic terms correctly: delta, glacier, location, region, natural resource, human resource, mountain, plain, plateau, river, peninsula, climate, tundra, desert, continent, nation.
- AISL.SST.02.G6.03 Use latitude and longitude to locate places on the map and find latitude and longitude coordinates
- AISL.SST.02.G6.04 Understand time zones
- AISL.SST.02.G6.05 Understand how geography influenced the development of civilizations studied
