- AISL.ELA.01 READING-FLUENCY: Students will read fluently using the skills and strategies of the reading process.
- AISL.ELA.01.G4.01 Recognize words immediately.
- AISL.ELA.01.G4.02 Apply a variety of strategies to identify unknown words.
- AISL.ELA.02 READING-COMPREHENSION: Students will comprehend, respond to, and analyze a wide variety of literary texts.
- AISL.ELA.02.G4.01 Identify main idea and supporting details.
- AISL.ELA.02.G4.02 Use text organizers such as type, headings, and graphics to predict and categorize information.
- AISL.ELA.03 READING-STRATEGIES: Students will apply skills and strategies appropriate for decoding reading of unfamiliar words in a variety of texts
- AISL.ELA.03.G4.01 Use word-reference materials including glossary, dictionary and thesaurus.
- AISL.ELA.03.G4.02 Use context and morphemic units such as roots, prefixes, and suffixes to determine the meaning of words.
- AISL.ELA.04 WRITING-MECHANICS: Students will write using the appropriate conventions of the English language.
- AISL.ELA.04.G4.01 Use knowledge of correct mechanics (end marks, commas for series, capitalization), usage (subject and verb agreement in a simple sentence), and sentence structure (elimination of fragments) when writing and editing.
