- AISL.ELA.01 READING-FLUENCY: Students will read fluently using the skills and strategies of the reading process.
- AISL.ELA.01.G3.01 Participate in pre-reading discussions.
- AISL.ELA.01.G3.02 Read text aloud with accuracy and fluency.
- AISL.ELA.01.G3.03 Read independently.
- AISL.ELA.01.G3.04 Follow simple instructions (i.e How to play a game)
- AISL.ELA.02 READING-COMPREHENSION: Students will comprehend, respond to, and analyze a wide variety of literary texts.
- AISL.ELA.02.G3.01 Identify elements of a story.
- AISL.ELA.02.G3.02 Summarize stories.
- AISL.ELA.02.G3.04 Make predictions about a text.
- AISL.ELA.02.G3.05 Identify the relevant characters of a story including the narrator.
- AISL.ELA.02.G3.06 Compare and contrast a variety of genres.

- AISL.ELA.03 READING-STRATEGIES: Students will apply skills and strategies appropriate for decoding reading of unfamiliar words in a variety of texts
- AISL.ELA.03.G3.01 Read unfamiliar words by using a variety of strategies (context clues, grammar rules, phonics, syllabication etc)
- AISL.ELA.04 WRITING-MECHANICS: Students will write using the appropriate conventions of the English language.

- AISL.ELA.04.G3.03 Use correct grammatical rules for writing ( nouns , verbs, adjectives, adverbs).

- AISL.ELA.05 WRITING-CONTENT: Students will write with clarity and coherence in a wide variety of contexts.
- AISL.ELA.05.G3.01 Write clear, complete and coherent sentences in a variety of contexts (e.g. genre, purpose, audience)
- AISL.ELA.05.G3.02 Write a paragraph with a clear topic sentence , body sentences and concluding sentence.
