Director's Welcome
Welcome to the American International School of Lesotho (AISL), an independent, co-educational, not-for-profit school, from Preschool to Grade 8, serving expatriate and local families in Maseru, Lesotho - the "Rooftop of Africa". By browsing through our website, you will gain valuable insight into the work, play and learning that make up the AISL experience.
We provide a broad and balanced education, following an American curriculum, in an atmosphere that is supportive, encouraging and infused with a sense of community. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, and that increased individual attention can really make a difference to student success - this is reflected in our low teacher-student ratio, and small class sizes. Our challenging academic programme is supplemented by a variety of opportunities in sports, the arts, after-school activities, field trips, and community service opportunities. Students develop a life-long love of learning and a true sense of stewardship - to their community and the world.
On our garden-like campus, set in a residential area of Maseru, students from over 35 nationalities benefit from a truly international experience, and all students are prepared to achieve at the highest level in a happy and friendly environment, with the support and encouragement of outstanding teachers.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need additional information. We look forward to getting to know you.
In learning,
Dwight Mott, Director
